No Description The following three courses will run in Bristol in February and March 2010

• Introduction to Multiplatform and Social Networking, 3rd February
Overview: To familiarise participants with new multiplatform delivery options available for video, animation and advertising content. The course covers TV, video on websites, mobile content, viral advertising, handheld devices, mobile phones, smartphones, gaming platforms, and takes in social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and MySpace) making participants aware of the different technologies available.
Suitable for: Producers, editors, designers, researchers, APs, project planners, directors, documentary makers, marketing assistants and managers, brand managers, content owners, ad agency staff
Location: e-Office Bristol 11-19 Wine Street, Bristol, BS1 2PH
Time: 1000-1700 (including one hour for lunch)
Cost: £125.00 + VAT (not including lunch)

• Shooting for the Web, 11th-13th February (3 days)
Overview: This course teaches the process of planning, shooting, editing and uploading of video for distribution on the internet. We provide hands-on training for camera skills, shot composition, lighting setup and audio recording, as well as for software edting skills and the correct fomat for uploading to the web. The course is taught in a supportive learning environment, with time included for practicing learned techniques
Suitable for: Producers, researchers, APs, web designers, business owners, journalists and anyone who is actively involved in planning and organising films for web distribution. The course will teach the process from script to online delivery of shooting, editing, encoding and uploading of video for the web.
Location: UWE Bower Ashton Campus, Kennel Lodge Road, Bristol, BS3 2JT
Time:1000-1700 (including one hour for lunch)
Cost: £750 + VAT (not including lunch although the UWE oniste Restaurant will be open)

• Re-purposing TV content for Multiplatform 5th-6th March (2 days)
Overview: This course will give editors and post production staff the ability to utilise content to its maximum benefit across different platforms and to different briefs. It covers a range of techniques to improve the quality of video footage and gives guidelines on the best way to compress clips.
Suitable for: Editors required to increase their skill-set to complement their main editing tasks, Producers/APs working with films and video wishing to learn the skills required to re-purpose content for multiple platforms. DVD and web authors who have to prepare disc and web projects in multiple languages and with close captioned and subtitled content.

Time:1000-1700 (including one hour for lunch)
Cost: £450.00 + VAT (not including lunch although the UWE on site Restaurant will be open)

The courses will be delivered by Simon Walker www.bristolmedia.co.uk/directory/simon-walker-freelance (www.simonwalkerfreelance.com) Cameraman, Editor and Apple Certified Trainer. Simon runs training courses at the Soho Training Centre in London and is in demand as a speaker and trainer across the country.

If you meet the Skillset criteria www.skillset.org/multiplatformbursaries, you may be eligible to receive funding of up to 80% of the course costs up to £800 through the Multiplatform Bursary Scheme. Please note that bursary applications can take up to 4 weeks to process and although applications can be made 5 working days before the course date, there is no guarantee that the application will be successful. In addition applications cannot be considered retrospectively.
