October 2010 Regulation Changes – Common Commencement Dates

A number of key government departments issue their changes in regulation on the 1st October and the 6th April, these are called Common Commencement Dates (CCDs). The announcement will be the last of 2010.
In addition, the European Commission is currently trialling two dates each year for European Union (EU) legislation – 29 April and 29 October.


Employment & Skills

Equality and diversity: Much of the new Equality Act 2010 will replace the current anti-discrimination legislation. Read more
The national minimum wage (NMW) rate: The various NMW rates will increase and there will be a new rate for certain apprentices. Read more


Sales & Marketing

Supply of goods and services: Much of the new Equality Act 2010 will replace the current anti-discrimination legislation. This applies to any Business that provides goods, services and/or access to facilities to the public. Read more


International Trade

Organic produce importing: Certificates of Inspection will be verifiable away from the initial UK port of entry. Read more
