A start-up creative agency in Plymouth, established only six months ago, has already doubled in size and is working with a number of high profile businesses across the region.
Undertaking all of the strategic works for Mount Wise’s ‘Village by the Sea’, Evocative has also won contracts with The National Trust in the South West, Trethorne Hotel & Golf Club, building specialist MJ Evans, and Westcountry Group.

Based in Admiralty House, Mount Wise, Evocative has gone from strength to strength since being founded by strategic marketer, Gavin Braithwaite-Smith in the summer of last year.
Gavin, who has more than ten years’ experience in strategic marketing, was joined by PR director Katy Thorpe shortly after the business was started and, with an increased level of work and demand for other services, has just employed a further two new members of staff. Andrew King has joined the team as creative manager and Gemma Selley as PR & marketing executive.

Talented in graphic animation, graphic design and web design and build, Andrew has added a whole new dimension to the strategic offering at Evocative since he joined earlier this month. Also adding expertise, Gemma previously worked at ITV and within Plymouth City Council’s economic development team, making her more than able to support Gavin and Katy in the PR and marketing aspects of the business.

Online and social media is one of Evocative’s key strengths and has seen much interest from the business community locally and nationally. Evocative has already been commissioned to undertake works for one of the top media agencies in the UK* and keen blogger Gavin, provides informative workshops on the topic.

Gavin Braithwaite-Smith, director and founder of Evocative, commented: “It has been a very busy six months for Evocative! Although we are a relatively new agency we have a wealth of experience within the team and a strong creative edge. We always try to do things that little bit differently and put an original spin on any works.

“I am thrilled to welcome both Gemma and Andrew to the team as not only do they offer a whole new skill set but they are fun to work with and ensure the energy levels at Evocative are always high. We now look forward to building on this success and working with new and existing clients to help them with their marketing needs. ”

Claire Bolitho, communications consultant, National Trust South West, added: “We have worked very closely with Evocative and the results have been fantastic. They have created imaginative social media campaigns and blogs for the Trust, helping us to make the most of online media and communicate with new audiences. The level of support that Gavin and his team give can not be doubted.”
